About Our Founder

Charles Oakley born December 18, 1963, NBA-All Star, Author, Entrepreneur, and Philanthropist.

Oakley is a former NBA player known for his ferocious rebounding and unwavering intensity on the court. As a power forward he played for several teams throughout his 19-year career, including the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, and Houston Rockets.

Oakley serves as founder and CEO of the Charles Oakley Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed at addressing hunger and poverty within under-served communities. Fueled by his passion for cooking, Charles launched the ‘Oak Out Hunger’ initiative in 2021 whose continuous mission is to serve thousands of meals across America.

Beyond his successful basketball career, Charles Oakley has demonstrated a multifaceted entrepreneurial spirit. He is a partner in renowned steakhouses like Red, The Steakhouse, in Cleveland and South Beach, Miami, and owns and operates several car wash, oil change, and detail locations in the state of New York.

A respected chef, appearing on cooking competition shows like ‘Chopped’ and ‘Tournament of Stars,’ Charles frequently cooks for private events and charitable causes. He brings both the celebrity awareness and cooking prowess for a unique blend and twist to any affair. Charles has cooked for Oprah, Jay-Z, Michael Jordan, Lebron and numerous other celebrities.

Sharing his unique perspective on life Charles authored his captivating memoir, ‘The Last Enforcer,’ with a foreword by his close friend Michael Jordan. In this book, Oakley divulges never-before-told stories about his basketball journey on and off the court.

Appearing in “Dancing with the Stars”, season 29 Charles’ versatility is on full display where he surprised audiences with his style and grace.

Charles is a true inspiration, demonstrating that success can be achieved in various arenas. His commitment to giving back to the community, coupled with his entrepreneurial endeavors, solidifies his legacy as a multifaceted individual who continues to make a significant impact on the world.

Charles and his wife, Angela, share a home in Atlanta, GA, with their blended family of four. Their children, Charles Jr., Ahmauri, Avan, and Arleigh, span ages 8 to 28.
