About

Who We are

At the Charles Oakley Foundation, we believe that every child deserves access to nutritious meals, regardless of their circumstances. Founded by NBA legend Charles Oakley and his wife Angela, our mission is clear: to feed 100,000 children in nderserved communities facing food insecurity.
Angela’s journey began in Harvey, Illinois, where she experienced firsthand the struggles of growing up in a single-parent household. She often didn’t know where her next meal would come from and relied on the kindness of organizations dedicated to helping families in need. This deeply personal experience drives our commitment to ensuring that no child has to face hunger alone.
Charles Oakley, known for his powerful presence on the court, brings that same passion to the kitchen. His love for cooking and feeding others is at the heart of our foundation’s efforts. By visiting shelters across the country, Charles has given hope to countless individuals experiencing homelessness, demonstrating that compassion
and action can change lives.
